Weekly Community Update

Dear RWCS Community,

Just as migrations happen, the teachers all returned to school on August 1st in preparation for a new school year! We have been getting calls about Classroom Supply Lists, and there is a link below for each classroom. For new families, please complete the registration packet and the release of records form. Please send the release of records form back to us ASAP so we can get student records from their previous school, especially if your student is on an IEP or 504 plan, so we have that information at the beginning of the school year. Information can be emailed to Marina, our Office Manager, at office.manager@rwcs.org.

The Weekly Update is typically sent out on Fridays and is the best source for information about the school and upcoming events. We will occasionally send out additional updates if the information is urgent. Please take a few minutes each week to read the Weekly Update so you can stay informed about what is happening at the school! The Weekly

24 - 25 RWCS Registration Packets Available for Download >

You may download the Registration packet by clicking on the link above, or if you prefer it to be mailed, call the school at 575-586-2076 or email office.manager@rwcs.org and provide your mailing address. Please complete all the forms!

Even though RWCS does not offer a meal program, please complete the Free and Reduced Lunch Form (information is kept confidential), as we receive additional funding based on this information.

If you are new to the school and your student is on an IEP or 504 plan, make sure to complete the release of records form so we can request this information from their previous school. You do NOT need to complete this form if your student has been enrolled in RWCS. Please bring completed forms to Back-to-School night; we need the completed forms before the first day of school. We will also have copies available to fill out at Back-to-School Night.

Back-to-School Night - Thursday, August 8th at 5:30 pm

All parents and students should attend this evening, as it is a chance to learn more about the school, meet your classroom teachers and school staff, learn about your student’s upcoming fall trip, meet other families, and ask questions.

Please bring your completed Registration Packets (we can make copies of the required documents for you). We will have lemonade, chips, salsa, and some light snacks. If you would like to contribute a snack, that would be great.

The other Asynchronous Days for Students will again be counted as regular school days, with students working on assignments at home on those days.

The 100% Taos County Initiative

The TCI has recently uploaded an online Resource Directory of service providers and other resources for Taos County residents. The directory is on a website that hosts directories for 100% NM Initiatives across the state and is linked to our 100% TCI website. Our aim is to provide a comprehensive directory of agencies and services across ten sectors: Housing, Food, Medical/Dental Care, Behavioral Health Care, Transportation, Parent Support, Early Childhood Education, Community Schools, Youth Mentoring, and Job Skill Training. For the most part, we included services that are free, are Medicaid/Medicare accessible, have a sliding scale fee, or other methods of financial assistance.
